Getting Started with the Project
In November 2021, we started our work by evaluating the performance of TouchBio’s website, its competitors and the industry it serves. When we looked at the industry in which our brand operates, we realized that competition is extremely high. When we started our work, we had competitors whose brand awareness was older than TouchBio. At the beginning of our study, we evaluated our brand’s website in terms of SEO compatibility and obtained the following results: Challenges Encountered:
- Low domain authority compared to competitors
- Low organic traffic from category pages
- Weak SEO-compliant content on category and product pages
- Very low site speed due to low Core Web Vitals values
Strategy
As Markethinkers, we can summarize the steps we followed for TouchBio to stand out in the digital world as follows:
- Comprehensive Keyword Research and Competitor Analysis: In order to achieve our goals, we first completed comprehensive keyword research that will help us develop our SEO and content strategy. With this study, we have seen the words we need to focus on throughout the project, the opportunities of our brand and the points that need to be developed.
- Persona and Content Analysis: We conducted a persona study to develop a user-centered strategy and understand our existing audience. At the same time, we determined how we can improve the existing content on our site to reach our target audience.
- Content Pruning Study: When we examined the blog content on the site, we saw that there was a cannibalization problem. We identified the pages where this was the case and took the necessary actions.
- Category Tree Study: We organized the category tree to make the TouchBio website more user-oriented.
- Regular Content Production: Throughout the project, we aimed to create an information architecture for our site with SEO-compliant content production. While increasing our traffic with regular blog production, we aimed to gain a readership that develops every day and continues to follow us.
- Site Speed Analysis: We analyzed our site speed according to Core Web Vitals metrics and made suggestions for improvement.
- Technical SEO Improvements: We made technical SEO improvements to ensure the usability and algorithm-friendliness of the website. Some of the works within this scope can be listed as follows:
- Identifying uncrawlable pages
- Troubleshooting 404 errors
- Resolving sitemap errors
- Identifying meta description problems
- Prevention of persistent routing problems
- Elimination of orphan page issues
- Harmful Link Analysis: A harmful link analysis was performed to identify links that negatively affect the site authority. The connection of URLs that could be considered spam with our brand’s website was eliminated using Google Disavow Tool.
- Digital PR Studies: Digital PR plans that support content marketing and SEO efforts have contributed significantly to the prominence of our brand in the digital world.
Project Goals and Achievements
With the SEO and content marketing strategy we developed, the goals we wanted to achieve as a result of the project were as follows:
- 50% increase in organic traffic
- 25% increase in organic income
- 40% increase in sales.
The results of the optimizations we carried out throughout the project brought an organic traffic increase of over 300% and an organic revenue increase of 200.63%. We succeeded in achieving a rapid increase in both the total number of clicks and impressions and the average ranking of our site.
When comparing the organic data obtained from the January-March periods of 2022 and 2023, the results of our efforts are as follows:
- Our brand’s organic traffic increased by 614.20%.
- Organic revenue increased by 366.17%.
In addition, when we look at the March-May period of 2022 and the same time period of 2023, the improvements in the total number of clicks and average ranking were as follows:
- The total number of clicks increased by 580.21%.
- The total number of views increased by 66.66%.
Our rise in organic search is another indicator of our success in total clicks and average rankings. In March 2022, TouchBio ranked for 60 keywords in the top 10, while in the same period in 2023 it ranked for 109 keywords in the top 10.
